Red-brown insect has yellowish rings on its abdomen. Can sting only once and leaves barbed stinger and poison sac attached to victim. An extremely aggressive form of honey bee – the Africanized honey bee or killer bee – will attack a perceived threat with excessive force. Swarms of these bees have caused a number of human fatalities.
